Winning the shooting game is about more than having powerful weapons. If your units are exposed too early, positioned outside their effective range, or unable to reach the right firing lanes, their datasheets won’t save them.
In this episode of the Battleborn Tactics Lab, John and Kevin explain how to stage shooting units, measure threat ranges, use terrain effectively, and attack without offering your opponent an easy counterpunch.
In this episode:
• Staging units for future shooting turns
• Understanding effective threat ranges
• Using the “corner pie” to control lines of sight
• The layered “onion defense” method
• Don’t be there, don’t be seen, and have cover when you are seen
• Positioning units to avoid unnecessary return fire
• Creating and denying firing lanes
• Planning movement before selecting targets
• Using ruins and cover to protect valuable shooting units
• Setting up attacks without exposing your entire army
The goal is simple: create favorable shooting opportunities while forcing your opponent to take risks before they can shoot back.
What shooting or positioning topic should we cover in the next Tactics Lab? Let us know in the comments.
