The clock says seven o'clock. But is it seven in the morning, or seven at night? Open the curtains and find out - then learn the two little words that tell them apart. WHAT THIS TEACHES A.m. and p.m. The short hand goes round the clock two times every day, so every time on the clock happens twice. From midnight to noon the times are a.m. (the morning); from noon to midnight they are p.m. (the afternoon, evening and night). A sky window shows the sun and moon for each time and a day strip fills up with breakfast, school, the park, bath time and bed, so by the end your child has built a whole day. Also: noon and midnight, 'afternoon means after noon', which comes first, and spotting Pip's mix-ups. WHO IT IS FOR 6 and 7 year olds - first grade and second grade, Year 1 and Year 2 - who can already read o'clock times. There is a real pause after every question so your child can answer out loud.
