2026 SUPER CUP - RACE 5 | Sprint Race | Suika Circuit

Back out again ‪@SuikaCircuit‬ for Super Cup! Round 5 for us, the 2nd to last race of our season for 2026. There was a Race on Saturday, but I couldn't attend it. Dealerships work on weekends let's just say. Anyway! Before this event, I believe I've fixed my overheating issue. Last race (Mazda Mayhem in Sept) I had a overheating issue. Recently got this 1.6L rebuilt engine after 2 yrs and didn't want to blow it up right away so I DNFed last month. Anyway, talked to some of the other Spec Miata guys out at Suika, few said to definitely install another fan for Radiator (it's allowed per SCCA & NASA rules) just needed to be OEM & actually few of the guys run withOUT a T-Stat/ThermoStat; never knew you could do that. So I did, also had a Timing Belt issue when I had my Miata apart; I counted 20 teeth when checking on teeth between timing marks via Camshaft gears (Intake & Exhaust side), for NAs (and I believe NBs) it should always be 19 teeth between timing marks on Cam Gears so I was off by a tooth. And I heard that it could also cause issues with Overheating too. Got it all back together and brought "Lucy" to Suika this passed weekend for Super Cup. And Spoiler alert, NO OVERHEATING ISSUES, YAY!! BOY! I'm so glad I turned out for this race weekend. Yes, not a big group of Spec Miatas & Spec RX7s (even for other respectful Super Cup divisions), but was still gonna race. I Highly recommend watching this footage of Sprint Race! Me and our boy Mark Foster (Driver of the #92 Spec RX7 "Skunk") had a great battle. Just watch man, haha.
