Thor’s Fishing Trip – The Day He Hooked Jörmungandr | Cinematic Norse Music

Thor once ventured onto the open sea with the giant Hymir, determined to confront the creature that encircled the entire world. Using the severed head of Hymir’s greatest ox as bait, Thor cast an enormous hook into the depths. Jörmungandr seized it and fought with such force that Thor’s fists struck the boat and his feet broke through its floor. The thunder god pulled the World Serpent to the surface, where god and monster stared into each other’s eyes. But just as Thor raised Mjölnir for the killing blow, the terrified Hymir cut the line—and Jörmungandr vanished beneath the waves to await their final encounter at Ragnarök.
