Put-in at the County U bridge where Blackjack Road meets County U. This is the launch for the livery service so ensure that you respect that they maintain the launch area for their business and also use this area for their business parking. They have a small floating dock, steps down to the river, and a wooden boat slide down to the river.

Take-out at Chaffie Hollow Road. This is a private/dedicated landing for Y’Allbee Tubin’ so please ensure that you respect and maintain the launch area for their business. Use roadside parking unless you are loading/unloading gear since they are running their business and those not renting should not interfere with their operations. Checkout their webpage for more information: https://www.yallbeetubin.com/ The business does rent kayaks and canoes so please consider doing business with them to help support our small business owners.

The trip was 8 ¾ miles and took us about 3 ½ hours. This was a decent pace with a good current at this water level but we definitely took our time to enjoy the geology, landscape, wildlife, and enjoy our conversations.
The water level for this trip was 5.85’’ or 250 CFS at the Burton, WI gauge. This was a very nice water level with only the occasional scraping. The current was great, not too pushy or turbulent, and the riffles were fun and splashy.
