Not every travel story is written under a sunlit sky. Some stories are born amidst dark clouds, drizzling rain, and mountains wrapped in a blanket of dense mist. Our journey is the story of one such experience. We are heading towards Dawaipani, a small mountain village near Darjeeling. But nature seems to have a different plan today. Dark clouds cover the sky, rain continues to fall, a thick curtain of mist envelops the mountain roads, and gusts of cold wind sweep through the air—all of this has made our journey even more adventurous. At times, raindrops blur the view through the windowpane; at other times, the clouds completely hide the mountains. Perhaps Kanchenjunga will not reveal itself to us this time, but this mysterious weather has given the mountains a different kind of beauty—one that can only be felt and can never be fully expressed in words.
