A tailor became king of a German city, took sixteen wives, and promised a new sacred order. Outside Münster’s walls, an army was waiting. Inside, food was running out. The Münster Rebellion of 1534–1535 brought prophetic claims, compulsory baptism, communal goods and royal ambition into one besieged city. This animated history follows Jan Matthys, Jan van Leiden and the people caught between the regime and Prince-Bishop Franz von Waldeck’s army.
