I left the Mormon Church over 20 years ago... I thought leaving would be the hardest part. I thought once I walked away, the fear, guilt, and anxiety would finally disappear. But the truth was more complicated. The pain followed me. In this episode of Redefine Family, I talk about why leaving a high-control religion does not automatically end the emotional impact it can have on your identity, relationships, and sense of self. Many people ask: "Why am I still struggling years after leaving?" "Why do I still feel guilty?" "Why do I still question myself?" "Why does this still affect me?" Healing after leaving is not just about changing what you believe. It is about rebuilding trust with yourself, learning new patterns, and discovering who you are outside of the expectations you were given. If you have left a high-control religion and are still doing the work of healing, you are not alone. This channel is about rebuilding identity, relationships, and meaning after religious trauma and faith transitions. 🏡 Subscribe:    / @crystalwhamilton   🧠 Religious Trauma Assessment: https://redefine-family.kit.com/f671e... 📘 Paperback: https://books.by/redefine-family 🎧 Audiobook: https://www.audible.com/pd/Drowning-i... #ReligiousTrauma #FaithTransition #MormonStories #ReligiousTraumaRecovery #LeavingReligion #Deconstruction #HealingJourney
