As one bound to his landlord in servitude, Nandanar humbly seeks his master’s permission to make the journey. He confesses that he has neither the learning nor the spiritual knowledge to attain salvation by himself, and feels that visiting Chidambaram and receiving the Lord’s darshan is his only hope for attaining Paramagathi. I have no one but you to guide me towards the attainment of supreme liberation at Tillai Chidambaram. I have not learned great arts or spiritual knowledge. I do not know the proper path of devotion to attain supreme liberation. I have committed countless mistakes and sins in my life. O Lord, please forgive all my faults and accept me with compassion. I have spent my life immersed in worldly life, enjoying the company of my wife and children and passing my time without seeking spiritual liberation. Having come to sacred Tillai Chidambaram for your darshan, I now stand at your threshold, O Lord, seeking your grace and guidance towards liberation. ---------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: These songs have been uploaded solely for listening pleasure and as an archive to preserve Carnatic music.
