Northfield, OH - Sentry 14V Siren Test - Short Alert - 8/4/21

Basic Information: Siren: Sentry 14V (Installed March 2021) Town: Northfield, OH (Summit County) System: Northfield Siren System Location: Northfield Fire Department Tested: 1st Wednesday at 12PM Noon Uses: Tornado Siren Cycle: 20 Seconds of Alert Other notes: After Aurora and Chardon, I hightailed it to this brand new 14V that was recently installed in March to replace their old Model 5 at the PD. We couldn't find a test time for a while, but recently the FD got back to my email and told me that they would be testing the new 14V 1st Wednesday's at Noon, which happened to be in a few weeks. I figured I would come and check it out since "apparently" they still follow the old testing procedure which was May-August so just incase that was true, I wanted to come film it. Right as noon hit the clock, DTMF come over the scanner, but nothing happened. Another 30 seconds goes by and DTMF comes over the radio again. Still nothing! At this point I was starting to get nervous it wasn't going to work. Roughly a minute later DTMF comes over the scanner yet again, but this time the sleeping giant roars its way to life! I was genuinely surprised how loud this one is compared to the one's in Knox Twp. Might have to do that this was its only other time sounding outside of SWA. I was a bit disappointed it was a 20 second test but I really can't complain and this was truly an awesome test! I'm sure I'll be back to film this one at a different angle sometime in the future as it looks like you could get a radio tower shot... I would've looked for better options but unfortunately due to a wrong turn, we arrived just minutes before activation! Enjoy!
