CROSSING THE BERNESE ALPS: Griesalp to Gimmelwald via Sefinenfurgge! 🏔️🥾

A true Swiss alpine classic! 🏔️✨ Join us on one of the most spectacular traverses in the Bernese Alps. This 22 km journey connects the remote Kiental with the world-famous Jungfrau Region, leading through some of the most dramatic landscapes in Switzerland. Starting in Griesalp (1,400 m), we climbed past the wild Gamchi glacier fields up to the stunningly located Gspaltenhorn Hut (2,455 m). From there, the trail pushes even higher to the legendary Sefinenfurgge Pass (2,611 m)—a gateway that offers a direct, jaw-dropping view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The long descent took us past the cozy Rotstockhütte and finally down into the picturesque, car-free village of Gimmelwald. This is a challenging but rewarding T3 hike that every mountain lover should experience at least once. 📊 Route Details: 📍 Route: Griesalp – Gspaltenhornhütte – Sefinenfurgge – Rotstockhütte – Gimmelwald. 📏 Distance: 22.3 km. 📈 Ascent: 1,598 m | Descent: 1,617 m. ⏱️ Time: ~7 hours 45 mins. 🎚️ Difficulty: T3 (Red-white marked). 🗺️ Region: Bernese Oberland / Jungfrau Region.
