What’s it actually like to climb Muckish Mountain via the Miner’s Path in Donegal? Join me for the climb, the summit views and a look around the old quarry—with an unexpected reason to head back up the mountain… Being from Tyrone, climbing Muckish has been a childhood dream of mine. In this video, I talk you through my experience on the trail, show the terrain along the way and share my thoughts on the difficulty at the end. There’s steep ground, incredible scenery and a little more climbing than I’d planned! Have you climbed Muckish—or would you give the Miner’s Path a go? Let me know in the comments. Subscribe for more hikes, photography and adventures around Ireland and beyond. Filmed on 14 July 2026. Location: Muckish Mountain, County Donegal, Ireland Route: Miner’s Path The mountain took me almost exactly 3 hours, spending approximately 45 minutes-1 hour around the top. I would’ve been faster, but see why in the video.
