One Day Hauling Stone to the Great Pyramid, Giza, 2560 BC

In c. 2560 BC, a boat crew under a foreman named Merer spent one documented day carrying limestone from the Tura quarries to the Great Pyramid of Giza. We know because their logbook survives — the oldest inscribed papyrus ever found. This is that one day, reconstructed hour by hour from the diary itself.
