You know surprisingly I don't know all that much about Tully's and Vance's dynamic/relationship in the lore, I mean besides the obvious like they know each other and whatever. Battle buddies maybe? Probably that. You would think two different admirals from two incredibly resourceful factions would be able to be supplied with something other than just a shieldless and DPS heavy Flagship, but I guess the Multiverse motto has always just been you take what you can get. One of the more strange types of crewser I've played yet, in terms of if it's able to scale insanely violently or if it's more or less just a lazy gunship. I think if there were 9 systems to work with it would ridiculous, but having only a single choice while already missing medical and shields is just really awkward to me. Shields aren't restricted by any means, but Cloaking gives your very high damage output artilleries basically 15 seconds of uninterrupted fire. I think overall it'll just depend on what your priorities are, maybe which ending you're going for too. I will say though that this variant has a low more leeway in being able to mostly immortally scale because of how deadly and reliable the damage output of four different level 5 hull damaging artilleries will be, versus maybe the previous ones where you pretty much had to do exactly what was intended with the vessel otherwise you would notice a distinct power gap. At the end of the day, it works, it plays fine, so that all that matters. Kind of a bland run, but it was interesting preparing a ship to take on the MFK Flagship while shieldless. Of course it would be child's play with some kind of counter to Vance's Cloaking, but without that, kind of needs a bit more thinking involved. These are the kind of moments where you have to consider if Cloaking is really gonna be as goated as you think it'd be. Of course who doesn't like 100 evasion plus multiple seconds of invulnerability, but when it comes down to the fight having an enemy very well capable of killing you outside the cloak, and nothing is really ever a guarantee in FTL, maybe it's better to bite the bullet and buy shields and take 3 missile damage instead of 8 or so from undodgeable sources. Well this was the last ship of the first page of Crewsers, only one more to go and that would about wrap-up everything to do with Forgotten Races. Plus that newest content update.
