Speakers: Mandovi Chatterjee Daphne Cooper, PhD Arpita Kulkarni Elsa Molina Takara Bio, Sponsor Talk Abstract: Single cell analysis is a powerful technique to characterize complex tissue types, identify rare cell populations, uncover regulatory relationships between genes, and track cell trajectories. From sample handling to cell dissociation, there are a number of technical considerations that influence cell viability and data quality of single cell genomics, single cell epigenomics, and single cell gene expression experiments. Join us for this presentation which will cover critical sample prep decisions and technical considerations for single cell assay design and optimization. Abstract: I have been working in the single cell field since 2017 while at the Single Cell Core at Harvard Medical School. During my entire stint, I have gained extensive experience working on various different high throughput single cell technologies across many different tissue types from a variety of organisms. For this session, I plan to talk about the emerging scRNA-seq technologies and share some practical guideline on how to choose the suitable platform. Abstract: In this presentation, we showcase the successful application of single-cell RNA sequencing on hematopoietic stem cells from astronauts who spent 10 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS). Using 10X Genomics technology, we prepared high-quality sequencing libraries from low-input samples to analyze gene expression changes associated with aging in a microgravity environment. Our findings provide insights into the impact of space travel on cellular aging, with implications for regenerative medicine and long-term space missions.
