Welcome back to the channel! Today, we’re following the incredible journey of Chúc Thi Hồng, a 26-year-old woman who was forced to leave her home by her husband. Instead of giving up, she packed her backpack, walked deep into a bamboo forest, and decided to build a completely new life with her own hands. Her goal was simple but ambitious: build a bamboo home, create a self-sufficient farm, and live independently off the grid, far away from an abusive relationship and without depending on anyone. Deep in the forest, she first cleared the land and carefully selected strong, durable bamboo to build the main structure. Step by step, she transformed the raw forest into a beautiful two-story bamboo house, complete with a traditional palm-leaf roof designed to stay cool in summer and warm in winter. But the house was only the beginning. She went on to build a separate bamboo kitchen with a handmade clay stove, followed by a bamboo bathroom and a bamboo water system that brought fresh water from the forest to her home. She also crafted bamboo furniture, a beautiful dish rack, and other useful items entirely by hand. As the farm grew, she built chicken coops, a pig pen, a goat shelter, a fish pond, and a relaxing bamboo hut beside the water. She even created bamboo fencing around the pond and a bamboo gate around her home to protect the farm and keep unwanted animals out. She then brought pigs from her former home to the new farm and built a larger clay kitchen for cooking meals and preparing food for the animals. Next came the vegetable garden. She prepared rows of fertile soil beside the bamboo house and planted vegetables such as cabbage, kohlrabi, beans, mustard greens, and sweet potato leaves. Some of the vegetables were for her own meals, while others became food for her pigs and livestock. She also ventured deeper into the bamboo forest to harvest fresh bamboo shoots and turned them into dried bamboo shoots, creating another valuable source of food from the surrounding forest. Over time, the transformation became truly remarkable. The once-empty forest gradually turned into a thriving homestead. The vegetable garden became green and productive, the chickens began laying eggs, pigs and goats were raised on the farm, and the fish pond became part of her growing self-sufficient lifestyle. Finally, she completed the bamboo fence and beautiful entrance gate, surrounding the home with flowers and creating a peaceful, natural environment. What began as a painful experience of being forced out of her home became the beginning of an entirely new life. From having nowhere to go to building her own bamboo house, farm, food supply, and independent off-grid lifestyle — this is a powerful story of determination, courage, and self-reliance. Watch until the end to see how an empty bamboo forest is transformed into a beautiful self-sufficient bamboo homestead built almost entirely by one young woman.
