A 4K walk through Seto, Japan, on the last day of the 31st Kuru-Fuku Maneki-neko Festival in Seto. Seto is a pottery town just outside Nagoya, at the end of the Meitetsu Seto Line from Sakaemachi in central Nagoya. This one is a special: a short trip out of Nagoya. Short English captions appear on screen now and then. Filmed September 27, 2026 Seto is known for "Seto ware." Blessed with good clay, it has been making pottery for a very long time. Every fall, for two days, the town fills up with maneki-neko, the Japanese "lucky cat" believed to bring good fortune, with exhibitions, stalls and events all over town. The walk starts at Owari-Seto Station and passes a goldfish shop, a Seto yakisoba stall and cat face painting on the way into the covered Suehiro-cho Shopping Street. Then comes Seto-Gura Museum and the Nippon Maneki-neko 100 Artists Exhibition — a hundred lucky cats made by different artists — and Seto Ginza-dori Shopping Street. In the afternoon the rain starts and the streets empty out.
