Soujanya Case SIT Row has intensified after the Karnataka government constituted a five-member Special Investigation Team headed by IGP N. Shashi Kumar for the fresh investigation ordered by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court directed a fresh probe into the 2012 Soujanya case and asked the state to submit a compliance report within three months. Soujanya supporters are now demanding changes to the investigation team. According to the supplied report, the campaigners are opposing N. Shashi Kumar’s appointment and are seeking the inclusion of Pranav Mohanty in the new SIT. Soujanya’s mother Kusumavathi has also raised objections regarding some appointments and sought capable investigators for a transparent fresh probe.
