Blended Family Dinner - Beef Salpicao, Calamari & Cassawa Cake! Kids are Happy to Be with Father!

Today was one of those evenings that reminded me that kindness, friendship, and family can overcome anything. ❤️ My ex-husband, the father of my sons Misha and Kostya, came back to our beautiful Samal Island, where he is now living, and we all went out together for dinner at a Filipino restaurant. Our blended family spent the evening laughing, playing and enjoying each other’s company - and it honestly felt so warm and special. 🥰 Misha and Kostya played hide-and-seek with my ex-husband’s girlfriend, while she and my ex-husband played with little Alina. Watching everyone get along so naturally made me incredibly happy. This is what a blended family can look like when there is friendship, respect and kindness. ❤️ And of course, there was Filipino food! 🇵🇭 I ordered one of my absolute favorites - Beef Salpicao. I love this dish and almost always order it when I see beef on a Filipino menu. Beef can also be a good source of iron, which is important for me as a breastfeeding mom. The kids ordered their favorite calamares again. They absolutely love the way Filipinos prepare squid! 😋 But our evening didn’t end there… When we came back home, we discovered that the electricity was out. Luckily, our subscribers had given us emergency lights, so they saved the evening! But after a few hours, those lights also ran out of battery… and suddenly we were sitting in complete darkness with only our mobile phone flashlights. 😄🔦 Earlier in the day, we also enjoyed Arroz Caldo with chicken, lovingly prepared by our wonderful helper Veb. It is such a simple Filipino dish, but incredibly comforting and delicious. I definitely want her to cook it again - and next time, I hope little Alina can enjoy it with us too. ❤️ This video is full of family, Filipino food, laughter, life on Samal Island, unexpected adventures and the little moments that make life in the Philippines so special.
