HAKBANG | A Short Film 2026

"How far would you travel for your future?" Hakbang follows Anton, a 23-year-old recent graduate from Cavite, as he braves a grueling, anxiety-inducing commute to Quezon City for his first job interview. Set against the harsh backdrop of a national energy crisis and the exhausting realities of Manila transit, Anton must navigate both the physical toll of the journey and his own fears about adulthood. Returning home drained and questioning his path, he finds quiet solace and perspective in his mother's comforting advice. A raw look at the weight of our career aspirations, the resilience of the Filipino commuter, and the tough first steps we take toward our dreams. #hakbang #shortfilmph #commuterlife #PinoyIndie #filipinoshortfilm
