Let’s Talk: War by Eoin Colfer, Andrew Donkin and Giovanni Rigano

Today I talk about ‘War’ by Eoin Colfer, Andrew Donkin and Giovanni Rigano. This book follows the story of two characters at the time of War - 14yo Kat and Adam. Kat is a 14 yo living in a worn torn city. Adam is a soldier who is part of the invading army. An emphasis is placed on Kat’s story and her struggle to survive in a worn torn city and to rescue her Dad. Adam’s perspective shows that sometimes soldiers don’t see the whole picture of what is going on and so struggle with their place in a war. ‘War’ is an important book that will start conversations about why wars occur and the impact wars have on children. Impacts that are not always fully explored. ‘War’ is published by Hodder Children’s Books.
