I read The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli and found 10 thinking traps I fall for every week. Here is my honest (and a little embarrassing) review.
What is The Art of Thinking Clearly about? It is a book of short chapters on cognitive biases: the small thinking errors that make smart people make bad decisions. After my Think and Grow Rich review (it has not made me rich yet), I wanted a book that checks my thinking instead of hyping it up. For each bias I give you one real-life example and one question to ask yourself.
Chapters
00:00 Why I picked this after Think and Grow Rich

01:05 Sunk Cost Fallacy (bad movie, full popcorn)
01:35 Confirmation Bias (when mom loves your business idea)
02:05 Effort Justification (4-hour biryani, expensive course)
02:35 Chauffeur Knowledge (Max Planck's driver story)
03:05 Outcome Bias (the 2 a.m. typo post that went big)
03:30 Incentive Bias (what a company rewards vs what it says)
04:00 Halo Effect (blazer + TEDx bio)
04:30 Swimmer's Body Illusion
05:00 Story Bias / Narrative Fallacy
05:30 My verdict + which book should I read next?
Book: The Art of Thinking Clearly by Rolf Dobelli. The ideas are his. The examples and bad jokes are mine.
