Inside Qiddiya: Saudi Arabia’s $Billion Entertainment Megaproject

Saudi Arabia is building something far bigger than a theme park. Welcome to Qiddiya City — a massive entertainment, sports and cultural megacity being developed just outside Riyadh as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 transformation. Spanning more than 360 square kilometers across over 20 neighborhoods, Qiddiya is being designed as a place where people can live, work, shop, play and experience some of the most ambitious entertainment projects in the world. At the center is Six Flags Qiddiya City, home to Falcon’s Flight — promoted as the world’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster. But that is only the beginning. Qiddiya also includes: • Six Flags Qiddiya City • Falcon’s Flight • Aquarabia Water Theme Park • Speed Park Track • The 70-meter-high “Blade” racing section • Prince Mohammed bin Salman Stadium • Gaming and Esports District • Dragon Ball Theme Park • Hotels and residential neighborhoods • Cultural and entertainment venues • Future sports and tourism infrastructure Six Flags Qiddiya City opened to visitors in late 2025, while Aquarabia officially opened in April 2026, bringing another major part of the megacity into operation. The question is no longer whether Qiddiya exists only in futuristic renders. Parts of it are already open. Now the bigger question is: Can Saudi Arabia turn entertainment itself into the foundation of an entire city? In this documentary, we explore the engineering, attractions, infrastructure, ambitions and challenges behind one of Saudi Arabia’s most extraordinary megaprojects. From record-breaking roller coasters and giant water parks to Formula One ambitions, esports arenas, stadiums and entire residential districts — this is the story of Qiddiya City.
