At 35 weeks pregnant, this office worker was experiencing pregnancy back pain, neck and shoulder tension—and had recently been told her baby was breech.
In this video, I take you inside her first chiropractic assessment and explain what we found, the imbalances we identified and the areas we worked on to support her comfort, movement and function during the final weeks of pregnancy.
Hours spent sitting at a desk can place additional demand on the neck, shoulders, back, hips and pelvis—particularly later in pregnancy as the body continues to change. Rather than looking only at where she felt pain, we assessed how her whole body was moving and where tension or imbalance may have been contributing to her symptoms.
Importantly, the purpose of her care was not to turn or reposition her baby. Our focus was on the mother’s musculoskeletal comfort, mobility and function. Breech presentation should always be discussed with your midwife, obstetrician or maternity care team.
Every pregnancy is different, and individual results vary. A thorough assessment helps determine whether chiropractic care may be appropriate for you.
Have you noticed that sitting at a desk feels much harder during pregnancy? Let me know in the comments.
