We meet people in strange ways now, often through screens instead of shared spaces. That’s how I met Gary, known on TikTok as GareBear, a funny creator who made others laugh. I knew his online persona, not his real life. Then the humor stopped. Gary shared that his wife, April, had passed away. When I reached out, he said, “One of the hardest parts of grieving is people saying, ‘Sorry for your loss,’ and moving on.” So I stayed and listened.
