According to the source, the studio has been revamped at a cost of ₹164 crore. Once a major hub for Odia cinema, Kalinga Studio suffered extensive damage during the 1999 super cyclone and remained in decline for years. The revamped complex now features film-shooting backdrops, indoor shooting facilities, sound recording, dubbing and mixing, DI, editing, rehearsal and photography zones, along with other visitor facilities. The report says shooting and post-production work will begin after the inauguration. Film personalities have welcomed the revival while also expressing expectations about how effectively the new facilities will serve actors and producers.
