Faith Is Risky Business

What does it actually look like to take a risk for Jesus? We often think of faith as having confidence that everything will work out. But biblical faith looks different. Moses didn’t know what would happen when he returned to Egypt. Peter didn’t know what would happen when he stepped out of the boat. Again and again, people followed God into uncertainty with one important assurance: God would be with them. In this message, Pastor Rhoda challenges us to consider whether our desire for comfort, security, and control might sometimes keep us from experiencing God more deeply. Following Jesus can involve risk—but those risks don’t always have to be dramatic. Faith can look like starting a difficult conversation, praying with someone, extending an invitation, joining a community, serving, giving generously, or simply responding “yes” when you sense God calling you forward.
