AL ES17 on Bus Route 64 Part 4

In this 4-part short video series, I feature my coverage on Route 64 which runs between Thornton Heath Pond (Bus Garage) and New Addington, Vulcan Way. My coverage will only show sections of the route between New Addington and Croydon. Here's what to expect. Part 1: Vulcan Way to Central Parade (New Addington) Part 2: HomesteadWay to Merrow Way Part 3: Fieldway Estate, North Walk to Addington Village Bus Station Part 4: Manor Way to Elmhurst School (South Croydon) Route 64 is allocated Electroliners only and operates out of Arriva South's Thornton Heath (TH) bus garage. The route previously used hoovers like the 250, but has since upgraded to these buses, which it has used for a few years now. Only allocation news I can give you, which isn't too exciting, is that even more Electroliners will be arriving into TH over the next few weeks, allowing the 250 to fully convert. The 64/250 are expected to intermix fleet, which they kind of already do to be fair. I find Electroliners very relaxing buses to ride on due to their light fan noises and smooth rides. The suspension is also pretty good, which is especially relevant going over some of the roads in New Addington. The nature of the route (no pun intended) in New Addington is simply breathtaking and I really love the route for that. Unfortunately, leaving Addington Village into Selsdon, it's just bog standard. You have your typical neighbourhood route, which there's nothing wrong with, but nothing to write home about. And then you come into Croydon, which is an urbanised area as you'll know, and the route spends the rest of the time on trafficky London road. Overall, I like this route but it's not my favourite Addington route as it can get traffic prone in Croydon and is pretty mid after you leave that area. 64 bus rating: 7.5/10 TH* - Thornton Heath Bus Garage Thanks for watching!
