Why Did I Need a Permit to Enter Nagaland? 🇮🇳

After exploring Guwahati, it was time to leave Assam and begin the journey towards Nagaland. The plan sounded simple: take a train from Guwahati to Dimapur, then a taxi from Dimapur to Kohima. Simple. In theory, at least. This is a slower, more real travel day through Northeast India — Indian Railways, Dimapur, a taxi to Kohima, the Inner Line Permit, a surprise passenger in the backseat, and my first proper glimpse of Nagaland. It is not the most dramatic episode of the series. But it is the journey that connects Assam to Nagaland, and sets up the next chapter in Kohima. No fake excitement. No pretending every moment is life-changing. Just a slightly confused Italian trying to reach Nagaland without looking completely lost.
