Someday Sweetheart - The Charleston Chasers

At the beginning the Charleston Chasers were essentially Red Nichols & his Five Pennies recording for Columbia. By early 1929 Nichols was no longer affiliated with Columbia, so the remainder of their output under this name was done by freelance musicians such as Phil Napoleon, Benny Goodman, etc. This side is from their Red Nichols period and is one of the most sublime performances of Someday Sweetheart committed to wax in the 1920s. Nearly everyone in this small ensemble contributes a solo, with the exception pianist Arthur Schutt. Vic Berton's cymbal playing throughout this tune is spot on. Recorded in New York on January 27, 1927.
