Senior Iranian security official Mohsen Rezaei has accused the commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) of coordinating covert fuel smuggling operations in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the senior official, military forces and equipment from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are providing support for these illegal fuel trafficking activities. The official stated that over the past two to three months, Iran has targeted and taken action against up to five illegal smuggling vessels daily. Asserting that Tehran maintains full control over the waterway, he warned that in the event of future conflicts or attacks, technology infrastructure and assets associated with the United States could become targets. We will continue to monitor the current situation in Hormuz.
