Dag Heward-Mills reads Matthew 11 where Jesus lists His own miracles - the blind see, the lame walk, the dead are raised - and then says something unexpected: blessed is the one who is not offended in Me. Why would miracles offend anyone? He answers with a sharp challenge to "Mr. Goody-Goody" and a story about a critical pastor at a conference whose eyes were full of judgment. Then he contrasts John the Baptist, who fasted and was called possessed, with Jesus, who ate and was called a glutton. Critics are never satisfied. The point lands clearly: the blessing belongs to the person who refuses to be offended by how God works, no matter what style it comes in.
