I visited the McDonald’s Big Mac Museum in Pennsylvania and then traveled to Uniontown, Pennsylvania — the birthplace of the Big Mac — to see where one of the most famous fast-food burgers in the world was first created.
The Big Mac was developed by McDonald’s franchise owner Jim Delligatti in western Pennsylvania in 1967, and today you can still explore that history through the Big Mac Museum and visit the location connected to its birthplace. Of course, I had to eat a Big Mac along the way — including one at the birthplace itself.
This video is a road trip through McDonald’s history, food history, roadside Americana and one of the most recognizable fast-food creations ever made. If you enjoy unusual roadside attractions, historic restaurants, classic American food, fast-food history and places connected to famous brands, this one is for you.
Join me as we explore the Big Mac Museum, learn the story behind the creation of the Big Mac, visit Uniontown, Pennsylvania, and experience a piece of McDonald’s history that many people don’t even know exists.
