It is one of the deepest gorges in Europe and can be easily explored via wooden walkways. The Experience on Site • The Trail: An easy, well-secured walk along wooden walkways directly alongside the steep rock faces. • Duration: The loop trail is relatively short and takes about 15 to 20 minutes in total (walking time only, round trip on the same path). • Highlights: At the end, you can look down deep into the Rhône Valley. High above your head (200 m), two of Europe’s highest bridges also span the gorge. • Suitability: Perfect for families with small children and older adults. A visit can be ideally combined with a trip to the nearby 114-meter-high Cascade de Pissevache waterfall. • Gear: It’s often noticeably cooler in the gorge. A light jacket is recommended. For babies, a baby carrier is recommended instead of a stroller, as some sections are narrow.
