A hot Sunday in Kassel. The house is sold, and Lena is clearing the cellar with her parents. At the bottom of a box of old papers she finds a small black-and-white photo: her mother at nineteen, laughing in front of a door with a painted sun — and beside her a young man nobody has ever mentioned. On the back: „Für immer — M. 21.8.89“, and the stamp of a photo studio in Leipzig. Her mother takes the photo and says only: „Das ist lange her.“ That night, alone in the dark kitchen, Lena asks someone else.
