GTA 6's car physics are heading back toward GTA 4. Once you see what GTA 5 took away in 2013, you can't unsee it. Rockstar almost never throws a good idea away. The crumpling metal, the heavy suspension, friends calling you up to hang out — all of it was in GTA 4 back in 2008. Most of it got cut from GTA 5. And judging by the trailers and the gameplay we've seen so far, a lot of it is coming back in GTA 6. In this video I go back to where it started: EA buying RenderWare out from under Rockstar, the birth of the RAGE engine and Euphoria physics, and why GTA 4 — the game half the internet calls a flop — was a massive technical leap. Then I break down what the PS3's tiny memory budget forced Rockstar to give up in GTA 5, and what the GTA 6 footage shows about weight, body roll, crash deformation, and what happens now when you flip your car. Heads up: Rockstar hasn't published a spec sheet for GTA 6's driving model. Everything about GTA 6 here comes from the official trailers and gameplay footage, and where I'm reading between the lines, I say so. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 0:00 — Rockstar never throws anything away 0:36 — How EA forced Rockstar to build its own engine 2:05 — GTA 4: the "flop" that broke sales records 3:10 — What GTA 4 was already doing in 2008 4:50 — Why GTA 5 took a step back 5:40 — GTA 6: somewhere between IV and V 6:50 — Crash damage is back 7:50 — No more mid-air flips 8:30 — Bottom line 9:00 — The other GTA 4 feature coming back 📌 THE FACTS, FOR THE RECORD GTA 4 (April 2008) was Rockstar's first big open world on the RAGE engine, with Euphoria physics GTA 5 launched in 2013 on PS3 and Xbox 360 — consoles with 512 MB of memory in total GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S Rockstar has NOT published GTA 6 driving or damage specs — the GTA 6 breakdown is based on official footage 🔗 SOURCES GTA VI official site 💬 Should GTA 6 drive closer to IV or to V?
