Race 6 of the 2026 Tegiwa Roadsports Season Vauxhall Nova GTE Driving solo this time Class D: up to 145bhp per ton What could have been! A big crash before the pit window triggered a safety car that wiped out an 18 second lead over the car that eventually won, driven by Jez Banks and Jimmy Broadbent. I had a longer pitstop to serve so had the race played naturally, it could be assumed I would have had a 8-10 second lead to try and hang on to in the second half. Realistically, Jimmy had pace in hand over me but he'd have had to work for it I reckon! As it was, when the race finally restarted the traffic just kept peppering me at all the wrong places and buried me about 5-7 seconds away for the rest of the race. Still, it all but cements 2nd in points and gives me the longest of shots to still take the title when Esther rejoins me behind the wheel at Donington. Watch out during the pitstops for former Aurora F1 star Neil Bettridge helping us out with operations and Esther either playing it cool when she nearly got wiped out by the Golf GTi next door - or perhaps just not processing it until a few moments later! Also an early helping nudge on Jez's rear bumper and lots of me generally trying a bit too hard to force speed out of a car that wasn't really built for Thruxton.
