*FRN UNVEILS ITS OFFICIAL LOGO AND ISSUES A NEW STATEMENT ON EASTERN CONGO*
A lion, the map of Congo, a handshake—and a message about the ongoing conflict. Two statements issued in Goma on *28 October 2026* explain FRN’s new official identity and its position on security, civilian protection and the Doha peace process.
In this report, *Rwanda Updates* examines both documents and explains what the *Front pour la Refondation de la Nation (FRN)* says each symbol represents: lasting peace, national unity, courage, natural wealth, cultural diversity, hope and equality.
The logo presentation, signed by **Prof. Freddy R. Kaniki**, details the meaning of its blue, red and golden-yellow colours, the lion, the Congo River, the star and the handshake beneath the national map.
A separate statement signed by *Lawrence Kanyuka* accuses forces fighting alongside Kinshasa—including FARDC, FDLR, Mai-Mai groups, foreign mercenaries and Burundi’s national defence force—of conducting attacks during October using combat drones, fighter aircraft and heavy artillery.
FRN names locations including **Minembwe, Point-Zéro, Munanira, Remeka, Katoyi and Mahanga**, alleging deaths, displacement and worsening humanitarian conditions. These allegations are attributed to FRN; the statement does not provide casualty totals or an individual timeline for each reported attack.
FRN also reaffirms its commitment to the **Doha peace process**, while declaring its intention to take necessary measures to protect civilians. The document does not announce a specific new offensive, operational timetable or territorial advance.
What do these two statements reveal about FRN’s public message—and what remains unanswered? Watch our full Kinyarwanda report.
