Flying With Ghosts - Fairchild PT-19 Flight - Miss Cornelia

I thought I was just getting a ride in an old airplane. Miss Cornelia, a 1942 Fairchild PT-19, taught me something different. This is the trainer that turned farm boys into the pilots who won WWII. Her wing was engineered to keep students alive when other aircraft would kill them. Only 98 of these machines remain airworthy worldwide. I got to experience what those young pilots felt in 1942, and understand why every flight matters when we're running out of chances to keep this history alive.
