Day 20 - Wilson & Lucie Lazarus - Chapeau, QC Let It Jig, Let It Jig, Let It Jig (Calvin Vollrath) End Of Winter (Brian Pickell) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ These two talented siblings made me a fan since I first saw them play in a video with Calvin Vollrath. They are so sweet and amazingly talented, and I can’t wait to continue watching their progress as they get older. When I taught and performed at the Gatineau Hills Fiddle Fest in Oct. 2019, I was thrilled to meet them in person and record a tune with them for my 365 Days of Fiddle Tunes. Wilson, 9, and Lucie Lazarus, 8, live in Chapeau, QC. They love to entertain/perform and promote fiddling and step-dance all while watching others smile and tap their toes (in today’s world it’s all about reading the positive comments from their Sunday videos). They hope that by sharing their fiddle and step-dance videos virtually, it encourages other youngsters to grab their fiddle and have some fun. Wilson and Lucie enjoy playing throughout the Ottawa Valley at dances, charity and private events. Some highlights include fiddling beside some of the greats such as Dennis Harrington, Calvin Vollrath Patti Kusturok, Shane Cook, Yvon Cuillerier and Louis Schyrer. I am so happy to have Wilson and Lucie playing in this year’s advent calendar!
