What Needed Saving | A Song Inspired by The Picture of Dorian Gray

“What Needed Saving” is an original English song inspired by Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray—a story of beauty, vanity, and the cost of losing yourself. Through Dorian’s regrets, the song revisits the love he rejected, the friend he betrayed, and the portrait that carried the truth his youthful face concealed. His reflection never grew old, but the soul behind it bore every consequence. At its heart is a simple wish: to grow kinder as we grow older, to love sincerely, and to protect the part of ourselves that can still feel. “The thing that needed saving was the soul inside of me.” Listen, follow the lyrics, and explore English through music and storytelling.
