Colossians 3:3 declares: “For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” — Colossians 3:3 In today’s Today in the Word devotional, Hidden With Christ in God, we reflect on the security of the believer’s identity in Christ. Paul gives us a remarkable picture: the believer’s life is hidden with Christ in God. This does not mean that Christians disappear from the realities of everyday life. It means that our deepest identity, eternal security and spiritual position are now bound up with Christ. You belong to Him. You are held by Him. Your life is anchored in Him. The world may try to define you by your past, your mistakes, your circumstances, your successes or your failures, but none of these has the final word over your identity. Your true life is found in Christ. Because your life is hidden with Christ in God: • Your identity is secure in Christ. • Your past does not have the final word. • Your worth is not determined by human approval. • Your relationship with God is rooted in Christ. • You can live from security rather than fear. • Your eternal hope is bound to Jesus. There will be moments when life feels uncertain. People may misunderstand you. Circumstances may shift. What once seemed stable may change. But the believer has a deeper security: Your life is hidden with Christ in God. You are not spiritually homeless. You are not abandoned. You are not outside His care. You are secure in Christ.
