Honeymoon film (1960), audio track sung by singer Mukesh -"Mere Khawabon mein khayalon mein chipe" was not picturised. So for the benefit of Film School Students to learn about playback singing , after 66 years the song was picturised & given newlife by the Dean Prof Dr Mukesh Sharma at the erstwhile campus of Raj kapoor, now MIT ADT University. There is a common point of confusion among vintage Bollywood enthusiasts about whether the song “Mere Khwabon Mein Khayalon Mein Chhupe” was technically part of the 1960 Hindi film Honeymoon, or NOT . But the real story lies in its two completely different versions. The Real Story & The Two Versions The romantic melody was composed by Salil Chowdhury with lyrics penned by Shailendra. When the music was finalized, the track was created in two distinct variations: 1. The Primary Solo Version (Lata Mangeshkar): This is the version that was fully shot, retained, and seen on-screen in the movie. It was picturised on the lead actress, Sayeeda Khan, alongside a young Manoj Kumar. 2. The Secondary/Alternative Version (Mukesh): Salil Chowdhury also recorded a version featuring Mukesh. Depending on the specific release print or audio release, this version existed either as a separate Mukesh solo used briefly in the background, or as a duet version where Mukesh's vocals complement a chorus led by Lata Mangeshkar. Because the on-screen performance features only Lata Mangeshkar's vocals, many viewers who watched the film in theatres or on television believed that the Mukesh version was dropped. #honeymoon #mukeshhits #mukeshsongs #shailendra #playbacksinging #playback #rajkapoor
