More Than a Mum: Movement, Connection & Finding Yourself Again.

In this episode of “*The Core Growth Show”, Gary Wallace* is joined by Catriona Bentley, owner of Baby Beats Leeds, for an honest conversation about motherhood, movement, identity and finding your way back to yourself. Catriona shares her experience of becoming a mum, returning to teaching and eventually making the decision to leave the classroom and build a business that gave her more flexibility for her family.  They explore the realities of postnatal recovery, the pressure mums can feel to simply carry on, and why looking after the mother is just as important as looking after the baby. Catriona also discusses pelvic floor health, rebuilding strength after birth, gentle movement and the importance of understanding what your body needs. This conversation goes far beyond exercise. They talk about loneliness in early motherhood, the importance of community and connection, the friendships that can grow through baby classes and why so many mums can feel as though they have lost part of themselves after having children. The conversation also looks at movement and play in childhood, the demands placed on children in school, the value of creativity and Catriona's experience of moving from primary school teaching into self-employment. Catriona shares what she has learned about building a business around her family, letting go of the pressure to do everything and recognising that success does not have to look the same for everyone. A relatable conversation for mums, parents, teachers, business owners and anyone trying to create a life that feels more aligned with who they are.
