Rising in Recovery Through Radical Self-Love with Lucy Price | Recovery Education - SHE RECOVERS
What does it mean to practice radical self-love in recovery? How can self-compassion, unconditional acceptance, and a deeper understanding of our coping patterns help us reconnect with who we really are?
Join social worker and addiction counsellor Lucy Price for a SHE RECOVERS® #MentalHealthMonday Recovery Education session exploring radical self-love, self-compassion, childhood experiences, and the role of self-acceptance in healing from addiction, trauma, and other life challenges.
For many people, recovery involves more than changing behaviours. It also means examining the beliefs we've developed about our worthiness, understanding the coping strategies that once helped us survive, and learning to approach ourselves with greater curiosity, compassion, and care.
In this session, Lucy explores how radical self-love can support us in reclaiming our authentic selves, developing healthier relationships, and creating a more compassionate foundation for lasting recovery.
In this session, Lucy explores:
What radical self-love means and how it can support addiction recovery and emotional healing
The differences between conditional and unconditional love, and how these experiences shape our relationship with ourselves
Why self-compassion is an essential part of recovery, personal growth, and self-acceptance
What it means to “befriend the shadow” and embrace the parts of ourselves we've learned to hide, reject, or judge
How to recognize coping strategies that may have once served a protective purpose but no longer support our well-being
The connections between childhood experiences, attachment, and our lifelong search for love and belonging
Practical ways to cultivate radical self-love, strengthen self-worth, and develop recovery-supportive behaviours
Whether you're recovering from substance use, trauma, codependency, mental health challenges, or patterns of self-criticism and shame, this conversation offers an invitation to explore recovery through the lens of compassion rather than judgment.
