2025 Religion and Foreign Policy Workshop: Faith, Peacebuilding, and Reconciliation

The Council on Foreign Relations' sixteenth annual Religion and Foreign Policy Workshop convened ninety members of the religion community in New York from February 11 to February 12, 2025. This panel, "Faith, Peacebuilding, and Reconciliation," examines peacebuilding and reconciliation movements and their implications for policy, as well as sustainable approaches to fostering dialogue and building collaborative frameworks across religious, ethnic, and national lines. Panelists include Prashan De Visser, founder and president of Global Unites; Josefina Echavarría Álvarez, director of the Peace Accords Matrix and professor of the practice at the University of Notre Dame's Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies; and Paul B. Stares, General John W. Vessey senior fellow for conflict prevention and director of the Center for Preventive Action at the Council on Foreign Relations.
