Dutch History: Festivities in Heerenveen (1934)

It is unclear what the occasion for these festive events was. They may belong to the summer festivities that were held this year as a result of the reorganization of municipalities that took place on 1 July. The municipalities of Aengwirden, Schoterland together with a small part of Haskerland then formed the municipality of Heerenveen with Heerenveen as its main town. Het is onduidelijk ter gelegenheid van wat deze feestelijke evenementen werden georganiseerd. Mogelijk behoren zij tot de zomerse feesten die dit jaar gegeven werden naar aanleiding van de herindeling van gemeenten die plaats vond op 1 juli.
