Cattle "String Trim" For Us!

Cattle when squeezed onto paddocks tend to try pushing their boundaries. It is the grass is always greener mindset. The result, if you have a strong charger and set your wire just high enough is the cattle reaching under to graze grass and string trimming for you! This effect is lessened when we wean new bulls and steer calves off their moms we lower our poly wires to try to keep the young ones in. They do often get chased by older animals and pushed into the next pens which is almost like an unofficial leader-follower or creep feed system that helps younger animals grow better. As the young ones get bigger, they respect the shock more and more so we raise the wire. No system is perfect but years of imperfections and mistakes have led us to this very efficient system that works well for us. remember, for most people, what is built with ease of use in mind is something that gets utilized or maintained. Make your animals work for you; not the other way around!
