He Always Waited. Now It's My Turn. | Slow Down, I'll Wait | Soul Pop

He always waited for me. Now it's my turn to slow down. For anyone who's noticed their dad walking a little slower. 🎧 Slow Down, I'll Wait — OTHERHOUR Original Song — Lyrics — I remember little shoes Trying hard to match your stride Every crossing felt like miles From the pavement at my height You would turn around and smile Like we had all afternoon I would run the last few steps Just to walk as fast as you You'd ask if I had eaten Before you asked about yourself Held the heavy bags in one hand So I could hold the other Wait for me Wait for me I was always saying Wait for me Slow down, I'll wait We've got nowhere we have to be You waited all those years for me Now let me match your speed Take your time There's no finish line to reach Slow down, I'll wait Come walk beside me Same old road beside the houses Same small store across the street I was halfway to the corner When I heard no steps with me Turned around without a reason Saw you farther back than before Nothing happened in that moment Still, nothing looked the same anymore Your hands were in your jacket Your shoulders smaller in the rain And for the first time I could see What all those years had changed All those years... Slow down, I'll wait We've got nowhere we have to be You waited all those years for me Now let me match your speed Take your time Take your time There's no finish line to reach Slow down, I'll wait Come walk beside me Wait for me... I said it all my life. I'll wait for you. Slow down, I'll wait We have all the time we need You gave a thousand steps to me Now let me match your speed Take your time Let the whole world pass us by I don't need to lead the way I'll stay here by your side Slow down, I'll wait Slow down, I'll wait ──────────────────── Slow Down, I'll Wait · Soul Pop Make your everyday feel like a movie.
