Around 12,000 years ago, humans began making one of the most important changes in history. For hundreds of thousands of years, humans had survived as hunter-gatherers, moving through the landscape and collecting whatever nature provided. Then something changed. Wild plants began to be cultivated. Seeds were selected. People started staying in permanent settlements. Food could be stored. Animals were domesticated. Surplus appeared. And that surplus changed everything. In this video, we explore how humans started farming, why agriculture emerged, how climate and wild plants influenced the transition, and how farming eventually transformed human society. We follow the journey from: Hunter-gatherers → Cultivation → Domestication → Permanent settlements → Food storage → Surplus → Specialization → Cities → States → Civilization We also explore the hidden costs of agriculture, including physical labor, crop failure, inequality, environmental transformation and the spread of infectious diseases. Agriculture was not simply a new way of getting food. It fundamentally changed humanity’s relationship with nature. Watch until the end to see how a tiny seed eventually helped build civilization. #Agriculture #Farming #HumanHistory #HistoryExplained #AncientHistory #AgriculturalRevolution #NeolithicRevolution #HunterGatherers #HumanEvolution #Civilization #AncientCivilizations #Prehistory #Domestication #FarmingHistory #HistoryOfAgriculture
